Our Inspiration

"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." - Phillipians 4:13

This scripture was meaningful to both Lisa and Pete and remains a source of inspiration for all who knew them. Pete and Lisa shared an endless generosity and love with their families and communities in life. They were both taken too soon, leaving spouses and children - families - who were forced to embrace this scripture. Finding a way every day to do what is required, what they are called to do, and turning to Christ for the strength to do so. It was this calling to help strengthen others, enduring similar trauma and loss that led to the creation of the Lisa DeNardo - Pete Polk Memorial Foundation. Our hope is to carry on Pete and Lisa's legacy of generosity and love by providing much needed support and advocacy for children and families suffering from trauma, loss, and violence. Thanks to the amazing work of our volunteers, partners, and on-going support of our donors in the southeast Michigan and southeast Ohio communities our organization provides strength and hope to youth experiencing foster care.
